Four Stars for Peninsula Archdeaconry

Peninsula Archdeaconry played host to the Diocesan, The Most Revd Dr. E. Adebola Ademowo OON for three Sundays in the month of April. The occasions were the foundation laying ceremonies of St. Luke’s Church Lamgbasa, Holy Trinity Church Ado and Church of the Pentecost Ajah. He was also at Church of the Advent Igbo Efon where he dedicated the church building and Sunday school complex.

At each of the occasions, His Grace was full of thanksgiving to God for making the ceremonies a reality. During the sermon he preached at Lamgbasa church, he described what is happening there as a miracle. From his text for the sermon Isaiah 43:19, he declared that ‘God has decided to do a new thing in Lamgbasa’. For long, the people of Lamgbasa have waited to see the day the building project will take off and now God has made it happen.

At Holy Trinity Ado, he praised the efforts of the congregation in wanting to build a 1,500 capacity auditorium to replace the existing hall that sits just about 200 people.

At Church of the Pentecost the message was ‘with God nothing is impossible’. citing the example of the lame man by the pool of Bethesda in John 5:3ff, he said, ‘if you surrender everything into the hands of the Lord, He will do a new thing’. He enjoined them not to be pessimistic rather they should have faith in God and believe God for the impossible.

At Church of the Advent Igbo Efon, He warned against grumbling as is common with some priests when posted to new stations. He praised the effort of the Vicar, who after he was ordained two years ago was sent to go and found a church on the Lekki Epe axis. The Vicar did not grumble rather he mustered the resources at his disposal and bought the land and built the church to the glory of God.
