

The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of Lagos, The Most Revd (Dr) E. Adebola Ademowo turned 60 on Tuesday, 29th July, 2008
The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and the Bishop of Lagos, The Most Revd (Dr.) Ephraim Adebola Ademowo, OON, FNAL, PhD turned 60 on Tuesday 29th July, 2008. To mark the event, the “Archbishop Ephraim Ademowo Foundation” was established and inaugurated on Saturday, 26th July, 2008 at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, while a thanksgiving service was held on Tuesday, 29th July, 2008 at The Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina to conclude the celebrations.
The aims and objectives of Archbishop Ephraim Ademowo foundation are as follows:
Education, Care of the aged, widows and the needy.
To offer assistance to children in motherless babies homes, remand homes, prisons etc
To provide fund to hospitals so as to settle bills of under privileged people in the society
To act as an institute for the encouragement of excellence and education
To provide funds to pursue scholarship activities, unencumbered by dogma, ideology or any limitation
To engage in all forms of intellectual pursuit and to act as a meeting place of ideas
To conduct and organize seminars, symposia and lectures on issues and topics relevant to work of the foundation
To engage in social works, community development, child welfare schemes, welfare needs of the poor, widows, orphans and other needy members of rural communities
To engage in any other activities ancillary or incidental to the foregoing
A book titled “Christianity in Ijeshaland; Historical and Ecumenical perspectives” and written by Archbishop Ademowo was launched at the inauguration to raise funds for the foundation. The chairman of the occasion was Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun CON, while the Book presenter was Chief Mrs. Leila Fowler. The Revd Canon Prof Dapo Asaju, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Chaplain, Chapel of Light, Lagos State University Ojo, Lagos was the book reviewer.
Important dignitaries at the occasion included, one time President of Nigeria, Ernest Shonekan; Governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babatunde Fasola and Gbenga Daniel; Past governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; The Lord Bishop of Lagos Mainland, The Rt. Revd Prof A. D. Akinde, The Alake Of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and The Group Chairman of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Dr. Raymond Obieri.
The thanksgiving service to conclude the birthday celebration was held at the Cathedral Church of Christ Marina and the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja, The Most Revd Dr. Peter Jasper Akinola, DD, preached the sermon while the Dean of the Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa was the celebrant.
The service was followed by a reception at the new church hall of Our Saviours Church, Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos. The reception was chaired by Chief Ernest Shonekan, a onetime President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The wife of the Archbishop (Mama Lagos), Mrs I. Oluranti Ademowo led the family of the Archbishop, which included the children, to both events and appreciated God for His goodness and faithfulness.
